"Can we save money by renting a motor coach?" Short answer: Yes. We've often talked on (and on, and on, and on!) about the wonderful economy of renting a motor home, because it often means greater convenience, greater comfort and often great savings! Obviously, you'll have no need for hotel expenses, and you save the cost of everyone's plane tickets. You'll save on renting a car because, obviously, you're in the motor home...these are the savings you might expect and they're savings often enough to fully justify your motor coach rental!

But...you should also consider that you'll visit places where there simply are no hotels available! For instance, the Navajo Nation invites visitors to use their campground at famous Monument Valley with its superb sunrise and sunset photo opportunities over the Mittens Buttes...but no hotels within fifty miles of one of the most remote places in America! Visitors from around the world love Arches National Park near Moab, Utah but the arches are more than an hour's drive from the nearest hotels...yet if you have an RV you can camp right next to an arch at the campground (30 miles into the park) and enjoy the park ranger's evening campfire talk beneith the stars. All across America there are beautiful vistas offered only to travelers like you in our motor home.
Other economies come from preparing your own great snacks and enjoying your meals in the coach kitchen...just consider four glasses of orange juice from a $3 half gallon versus $12 for four glasses at a hotel restaurant. Plus tips!! And you'll certainly appreciate the convenience of taking rest stops whenever your or the kids feel the "need", and having all the nice clean comforts of home with you. Convenience: Once you've placed your clothes away, you won't have to pack and unpack again until your trip concludes...no "bag drag" as frequent travelers call it, and no miserable airport hassle! No airline fuel surcharges, $20 window seats, no security lines, no fees to check luggage or $2 to enjoy a coffee or soft drink. Imagine avoiding all that unbearable airport misery! And there's more room in this luxury motor home than you'll find in all but the larger hotel suites...you'll be so comfortable. Face it...it is no longer pleasant to travel by air!
Like other private owners renting their motor homes, we don't begin to make money doing it, but rather let the coach earn just a bit towards the significant upkeep such an investment requires. There's no doubt that if you are only using an RV for twelve weeks or less each year, it is far, far less expensive to rent than to own! Industry studies detail a typical 43% savings over air travel or rental cars and hotels!
Why rent a motor home from us instead of a commercial dealership? Easy...its our coach! It is filled with the quality items our family enjoys on travels throughout America, giving you much more enjoyment and a sense of this being your home on wheels as well. The appointments are so much finer, the decorating is richer and more conservative, the little touches more comfortable, your convenience and enjoyment much more assured. We rent for only a couple weeks a year so the motor coach is actually quite unused. Most commercial rental agencies specialize in the cramped, well-worn and much less-comfortable boxy "Class C" RVs, which look like a little converted van and feel pretty much like an economy motel...the one you didn't want to take the family to! In our Discovery, for instance, you'll enjoy our grandmother's flatware instead of a discount box of knives and forks from K-Mart. The commercial renters provide sleeping bags instead of nice beds like our coach has. They usually have discount kitchenware, no televisions, cramped facilities, a bouncy ride in a noisy little coach with their company name painted big and bold all over the outside and commercial graphics everywhere...you get the idea. How much nicer to be in our luxury Discovery motor home! By the way, the Discovery is manufactured by Fleetwood, is built on a solid Freightliner Daimler-Benz chassis with a powerful Cummins electronic turbo diesel.
Unlike the rental agencies' campers, the Discovery is a high-end, quality coach which costs about three times as much to purchase...in fact, right up there with a house! It has a powerful yet more economical turbo diesel engine, while most commercial rentals are only gasoline...you'll enjoy the quieter ride plus greater power and economy of this Cummins-powered motor home. The National Park Service-approved Onan diesel generator is much quieter and unobtrusive....few rental RVs even have a generator. Our coach includes a small DVD collection, fine music CDs, good tea, bars of fine milled soap, our best local coffee brand, new dishware and cookware, new quality linens and much more. We've brought a small set of mapping software and interesting guide books for you. There is a compact HP multi-function printer in case you need to get a some work done, make some copies or just print a couple photos.
