Policies & Rates

Rates: $325-600 per day for our NC Revolution. The rate can include the kitchen and linens kits, usually offered by others at high cost. Insurance is not included. "Events" like NASCAR, Bonnaroo and such have special rates.

Again, welcome to the Carter’s Motor Coaches! Here are the usual boring rental details to review. Our first wish is for your safe travel, and our second wish is for the trip to be as happy as possible! And please…take care of our coach as if borrowed from a close friend...from whom you hope to be invited borrow it again. We’d sure like that!

$245-$325 per day for the Winnebago View or 265-$355 per day for the Terra Bunk Bed coach. $275-400 per day for the Southwind coach. Kitchen kit and linens can be included. "Events" like NASCAR, Bonnaroo and such have special rates. Here's the View in front of the Biltmore Estate, Asheville, North Carolina, Christmas '09

With all our coaches, rates are sometimes even less in the early spring and late fall...give us a call.  and rentals are with a minimum three day rental, for most of the year.  Holidays such as July 4, Memorial Day and Labor Day are $275 per day with four day rentals ($475 per day on the more luxurious Revolution coach.)  Shorter rental periods can be arranged for experienced RVers. We usually discount for longer term rentals. Special events such as NASCAR, music festivals or Bonnaroo require special rates and conditions because we are worried about higher risk of damage and abuse...please inquire and do not rent for those events without our agreement. Convenience kits (kitchen things and linens) are available, and we'll try to assist with airport arrangements as well as driving the coach for you if you wish to have it pre-positioned

Rental packages available with FUEL INCLUDED begin at $495 per day ($265 with the Oregon  View) with a minimum four day rental.  Package includes 100 free miles per day, with miles over 100 charged at $1.00/mile with fuel included. Miles over an average of 200 miles per day charged at $2.00 per mile. Call for details on our unique offer.

Our coaches are non-smoking, non-pets. We invite guests to not wear shoes inside the coach...much better for wear & tear!

Reservation & Rental Deposits: A $500 reservation deposit (applied to final rental charges) is required when you reserve. A security deposit of $1000 or $1500 for the Revolution ($2000 for "events") is required (in addition to your reservation & rental charges) within 30 days of your rental. Deposits are refunded after satisfactory return of the coach. Reservation deposit is 50% refundable with 60 days notice and no refunds within 31 days of rental. We’ll need your drivers’ licenses, credit card (against damages beyond deposits), employment and social security number, and copies of your drivers’ licenses all here at least 31 days prior to rental.

Insurance Binders: We provide no insurance. Renters must have insurance binder from your carrier at least 30 days before rental. We’ll provide the RV details so your carrier can issue a binder prior to your departure date. These are often provided free by companies like USAA and Progressive. Get extra days before and after your reservation in case travel plans change. For renters who can’t arrange a binder on their own, daily insurance coverage is available with MBA Insurance. The coach can’t be checked-out without approved insurance—no insurance=no rental. Protect yourself and get optional coverage beyond MBA’s low state minimums! Renters are responsible to all damages to the coach as well as loss of use beyond any coverage provided by your deposits or insurance policy.  Please remember that renters are responsible also for loss of use and associated fee recovery in any situation where the RV requires repairs

Final Rental Payment: Your full payments of security deposits, generator hours, extra miles, etc. are due at least 20 days prior to departure (30 days for summer, events and holidays.) We welcome PayPal but prefer to honor your personal checks. There are no refunds of rental payments for cancellations within 30 days of rental but the security deposit is refunded, of course. We reserve the right to cancel rentals without refund if arrangements and payments are not completed on time. No checks can be received at pickup time.

Condition at Time of Pickup: The coach is delivered with the diesel and LP tanks full, water tank about half full, holding tanks empty, and clean (outside weather permitting.) The refrigerator will be cold already. Renter can supply their own bed linens, bathroom towels and kitchen items but we do offer these as “convenience kits” at small additional cost.

Check-Out & Required (and quite useful!) Orientation: Arrange with us a pick-up date and time. To avoid delays, arrive a bit before your appointment time and allow a minimum of an hour for your coach check-out and orientation. We’ll go over coach systems, on-board devices, and amenities. We'll answer questions to help you enjoy your trip. Come early to load the coach at your convenience. Sometimes we can schedule a different orientation if your schedule requires it. Also, the folks at Smoky Park RV sometimes offer storage for your car…you can ask them if you need economical parking. In Oregon you're welcome to leave your car at our home.

Mileage Rates: You’ll have 100 miles free each day of the rental and there’s a charge of just .30 cents/mile beyond 100 miles. Anticipated mileage beyond this allowance is paid in advance. Miles beyond the allowance but not prepaid charged at $1.00/mile. All miles beyond an average of 200 miles per day are charged at $2.00 per mile.

Generator Rates: The RVs are equipped with a generator to provide convenient power to the microwave, air conditioner and wall outlets. Generator usage is measured by the hour at $4 per hour of use, with 3 free hours each paid day of the rental. Campgrounds usually provide AC power hookups so you shouldn’t need much generator use.

Maintenance Requirements: Renters are required to maintain engine & generator fluids, and maintain air pressure levels in the tires for safe travel. Oil changes are the renter's responsibility on long trips, with the gasoline-powered coaches requiring a change every 3,000 miles.

Prohibitions: Smoking and Pets aren't welcome. Vehicles may not be driven out of the country nor on any unpaved or non-public road. No Death Valley summer travel. Any use of the awning is at the guest's risk...we have had several guests forget to retract the awning before storms...and the awnings were torn off! There is no access to the roof of any RV. Thanks so much for understanding…these are safety issues.

Problems During Rental: In the unlikely event of questions or problems during your trip, simply call us or Good Sam for support as needed. In most cases, we can talk through the problem, helping you to continue your vacation. Maximum credit or remedy for any & all such issues is one day rental refund per rental. No credit for “convenience” items such as stereo, AC, levelers, TV, slides, awning, etc. Accidents must be reported to law enforcement immediately and to the owner and the insurance carrier as soon as possible. Renters may not abandon the coach without our agreement. We have recommended Good Sam Platinum Roadside Assistance—please arrange coverage as renters are responsible for all damages & roadside hazards, flat tires, windshield chips, breakdowns, towing, lockouts, etc., regardless of fault, act of nature, mean dogs—everything including Loss of Use! The plan is a great value and super coverage for you on your own vehicles for the rest of the year. We will contribute $40 towards your plan as evidence of our appreciation for its value!

RV Return Policy: Rental units are returned by noon on their scheduled return date, with no returns on Sunday without prior arrangement. Unauthorized extensions may result in more charges. Fuel and, in the winter, the propane tanks, must be returned “topped off” with receipt within 10 miles of the pickup point and the coach clean and ready in all ways for the next rental. Excessively dirt can result in extra cleaning fees, plus a stern and disapproving look from our housekeeper! OPTIONAL PREPAID CLEANING: She is happy to clean the coach for you if you'd rather skip it, charging $80 for the interior and her partner charges $70 for the exterior, assuming just normal conditions (click here for details on this service.)  In Oregon, the "she" and the "he" are the "she" and the "me" as we clean the coach ourselves. We provide very nice propane BBQs, which must be returned clean or be replaced...our housekeeper refuses to clean them so take the dirty BBQ home with you if brought back dirty.

No refunds or credits are offered on early returns, nor on unused prepaid miles. Please understand that rentals also require us to remove the coach from service the day before a rental and the day after to prepare for use, so we have two unpaid down days with each rental, plus maintenance. That’s why some of our one time fixed costs such as preparation are a flat fee, rather than incorporated into the daily rental which we try hard to keep as low as possible for you. Should you need, we can arrange to handle the refueling, cleaning and dumping arrangements and your vehicle storage for a fee, but you'll save money by doing these simple chores yourself.

Traffic/Parking Violations: Renters are responsible for obeying all laws, driving safely, and for reporting and payment of parking/traffic violations to the before you return the coach. Not reporting of your parking or traffic violations breaches the Rental Contract and will result in recovery costs. Traffic camera tickets will be charged against your credit card authorization form, so please drive responsibly. A big, heavy, slow-to-stop RV is not the vehicle to speed with or run yellow lights! Please be safe…nothing is more important to you or to us. God bless and save travels!
