Although we don't offer it ourselves, insurance simply isn't a problem when you rent a coach from the Carter Family! There are two approaches to handling insurance protection, and both are pretty painless! As your host owner, we do not offer insurance but have arranged two easy solutions to this need.
The first insurance solution is the best and its free: Request a binder from your own carrier for your use of the motor home. In most cases this is completely free as a service from your carrier. At the time of your reservation we'll provide you the forms necessary for your agent or the to complete and that's all there is to it.
The second approach is faster and easier but costs just a few dollars. MBA Insurance is the only US carrier insuring rental coaches. Our family and our coaches are properly established with them so you can rent our coach, and purchase inexpensive (around $20-25 per day) insurance from MBA, along with supplemental insurance beyond state minimums if you desire (and which we strongly recommend...state minimums are quite low and I'd want more protection than that!). For instance, most state minimums on property damage aren't even enough to replace somebody's car! If you are already reserved with us, just go to www.mbachoice.com to get your coverage. We'd be glad to buy a plan to protect our guests, but every plan available protects only the policy holder, not the coach owner. Thus, our plan won't cover you and this makes the Good Sam package important to you.
RV insurance is very inexpensive, especially when considering the value of the motor coach. This is because of the overall excellent safety record of the RV driving public!
