When in Asheville, we hope you'll fit in a visit to our famous Biltmore House before you leave, as well as brunch at the Grove Park Inn. Over Christmas, you'll enjoy their display of the country's largest collection of gingerbread houses. Local camping is offered at the

Pisgah National Forest, the Great Smokies National Park, the famous Blue Ridge Parkway, quality commercial campgrounds and many more destinations. For a commercial campground that is far superior to all others, we recommend Mama Gertie's at Exit 59 off I40, just east of Asheville.

The Carolina Outer Banks are about six hours away to the East, and Atlanta about the same distance to the Southwest. St. Louis, Hartford, Orlando or Little Rock are each just a day's drive away. The Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation is only 30 minutes away. What a wonderful country and the luxurious Revolution, Terra or Southwind coach from the Carter Family is your best way to visit it. And if you're our guest in Oregon, we hope you enjoy the famous Spruce Goose Museum here in McMinnville, as well as the terrific sights along the Oregon coast such as the lighthouses like this one at Cape Perpetua. In Portland, visitors shouldn't leave before visiting Powell's Books, and Mt. St. Helens is just up Interstate 5...don't miss it.
